The Spring Individual Tournament on May 6th - 8th, 2019 in Valdosta, GA is being played at two beautiful courses: Valdosta Country Club and Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Valdosta Country Club
Valdosta Country Club's Bellemeade/Plantation courses were co-designed by world renowned architects Joe Lee & Bobby Weed. The course was carved out of the South Georgia woodlands and pines that once encompassed the Cherokee Plantation during the Civil War. It offers terrific views and beautiful holes of golf to enjoy.
Kinderlou Forest Golf Club
Created by Davis Love III Designs, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club has hosted many PGA tour & Web.com events. The course is a traditional, classic golf course that should provide golfers with a memorable golfing experience and is ranked in the top 100 golf courses in Georgia. Each hole has its own character. The design of the golf course takes advantage of the variety of the land’s existing natural features and provides a beautiful course to play.
Greetings from 2019 President, Marva Simpson
It is my pleasure on behalf of the GSWGA Board of Directors to welcome you to our 2019 golfing season. As your newly elected President, I am filled with excitement and anticipation as we embark on another season of golf and all that this game brings to each of us, fun, fellowship, friendship, laughter, and enjoyment. I am amazed by the fact that this is the 55th year that GSWGA has been in existence and promoting golf among senior women throughout the state. The history of GSWGA is rich and well known in Georgia. Through the years, you, the members, have supported the organization through your participation in the annual Spring and Fall tournaments, service on the Board, and by your efforts in soliciting women golfers to become members. As I begin my tenure as President, I want to THANK you, the members, for your loyal support and dedication to GSWGA. There would be no GSWGA without YOU.
Plans are underway for a “Marvelous” 2019 season of golf. We are set to play this Spring in Valdosta, Georgia at the historical Valdosta Country Club founded in 1917. The second club, comparatively speaking is still in its youth having been founded in 1999, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. These are two beautiful golf courses that you will enjoy playing.
In 2019 we will continue to focus on our efforts to improve the website; to make registration for membership and tournament entry a more efficient process; to promote growth within the association; and to provide tournaments that are efficient, fair and enjoyable.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let us hear from you. The Board is here to serve you and would appreciate hearing from you. You may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Looking forward to an outstanding year for GSWGA and wishing each of you your best round of golf ever in 2019!
