Welcome to Georgia Senior Women's Golf Association
The purpose of Georgia Senior Women's Golf Association is to promote, maintain, and enhance the game of golf among senior women in the state of Georgia. GSWGA conducts an annual 36 hole stroke play tournament for the GSWGA Champion and Runner-Up, a Super Senior Champion, and a Low Net Champion, and a fall team tournament. Suitable recognition is given to the winners of these events.
Generous fairways, meticulously manicured greens, and gorgeous hardwood trees make The Chancellor’s Course at The Georgia Club one of the top-rated golf courses in the country by golfers just like you.
When Bob Cupp designed Jennings Mill Country Club, he succeeded in retaining the beauty of the area while building a course that is fun and challenging for golfers of all levels. The par 72 plays from 5,103 – 7,004 yards and has hosted both professional PGA as well as top amateur events.
Greetings from 2021 President, Carolyn Sudberry
Greetings on behalf of the GSWGA Board of Directors. I realize 2020 was a trying and challenging year for everyone personally and for our organization. Because of the impact of COVID 19, the Board made the tough decisions to cancel both the 2020 spring and fall tournaments. However, plans are being worked out to have the 2022 tournaments at Callaway Gardens and Peachtree City. I am excited to welcome you to the 2021 golfing season and am hopeful that 2021 will be a better year for all of us and that GSWGA can provide a spring and fall tournament that will meet the expectations of our membership. This will be the 57th year for this amazing association which promotes golf, friendship and camaraderie among senior women throughout Georgia. Thank each of you for your continued support of GSWGA through this year of challenges and transferring your 2020 dues to 2021. Please continue to encourage your golfing friends to join and make plans for our tournaments.
The Spring Individual Tournament is scheduled to be held in Athens at The Georgia Club and Jennings Mill Country Club, May 3-5, 2021. These are two beautiful and challenging courses. The Fall Team Tournament will be held in historic Augusta at West Lake Country Club and Forest Hills Country Club, October 4-6, 2021. Unfortunately, we could not get Augusta National at that time of year.
At the end of 2020, the terms of Linda Barrett, Jeanie Mahoney and Brenda Cobb ended. Their service on the Board was invaluable, and they will be missed. However, I am pleased to announce the addition of Rhonda Jones and Elizabeth Ross to the Board. I know each one will be a definite asset to the GSWGA Board and look forward to their contributions.
We will continue to build on last year’s improved website, where current members can update their information and new members can complete their membership online or if you choose, submit via U.S. Mail.
Your GSWGA Board will work hard to plan safe, fun and enjoyable tournaments in 2021 for the membership. If you have questions or concerns, please let us hear from you. The Board is here to serve you. You may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
I look hopefully and positively to a better 2021 filled with more opportunities for golf and gatherings with friends and family.
All the Best,
